2 John 1:1-8
1 The elder, To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I only, but also all who know the truth—
2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:
3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.
4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
THiS IS LOVE ~
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Decisions can either hold us back or set us free. I like verse 8, watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
There are decisions of life that change the direction we will go. You play an important role daily in life. People listen to you and can make decisions off of your past. Each of us have a story! Each of us continues a journey of life and it’s up to each of us to follow what God has said.
LIFE ~ I was 18 years old. I started church at 19. I listen to the pastor, preachers, teachers and thought some decisions were right. Yet, they were wrong. The Bible didn’t say some of those things but a human did. The human was wrong. I didn’t need to bust my records, wear a dress, no making and no pants. Humans said that not God.
I grew angry over the years of human control and wanted out of it. My decision was no church and no humans. Just wanted to hide away from humans. Then one day God moved in my heart. I needed to make a decision for my family. Things were falling apart.
My decision to go to a different church and under new leadership was a need. My life changed when I asked God into my heart and help me overcome hurt.
Here I am about to turn 68 years old and teaching. God is able and God is ready to meet you exactly where you are at. Just a yes to him and allow him to mend those hurts. One decision can lead to a life time of change for the best!
