KINDNESS

Luke 6:31

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how Jesus lived his life showing kindness. He cared about people and showed it. When I gave my life to God, I didn’t fully understand what that meant. I was 19 years old and began a journey to live for God. I would watch others and think that’s what I should be like. But it wasn’t what I was suppose to be like. I was suppose to be me.

How do I know what I’m suppose to do for God? It took time and I began to learn things I should do and shouldn’t do in my life. I got married at 22 and continued to learn. I’m 67 years old and someone in leadership told me I was too nice. I didn’t know a person could be too nice.

I do believe that kindness and love go together. The love of doing what is right.

Matthew 7:12 ESV

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

As a child, I grew up wanting to be kind to others because that’s how i wanted people to treat me. Yes we are all different and this is just who i am. I ask God to give me eye site to meet people where they are in life. Not judge mental but living an example of a Jesus in all I do.

Each of us have a choice daily how to act and treat others. Think about that before you react.

Blessings, Sparkie
