ETERNAL LIFE ~
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Can you imagine living forever in peace in Heaven? Living on earth can be so stressful at times. Really hard things happen and life changes suddenly. As I grow older, I see how each decision of life was important for my future. So many things tie together and we are in need of making a sudden decision. That sudden decision can change our path.
It was 1973 and angry at God. I didn’t understand death and I thought it mostly happened to very old people. I was wrong, death is a time where only God decides that day. My 18 year old self never saw a dead person before my dad. I was not a Christian and didn’t understand so much. Living in 1973 was quite different than 2023. No cell phones to google things. I was so sheltered from the news and things that happen. I didn’t own a Bible or know of Jesus as my savior. What did that mean anyway? I listened to my parents and never questioned why. It wasn’t until older years that I heard a time for everything.
Ecclesiastes 3
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
One day: a time for eternity.!
That means living with God in Heaven forever. Things on earth is finish. But until that day, we live for him on earth. Doing good and spreading hope of his word!
I GET IT NOW ~ in my older age I understand and can give wisdom to younger people. Guess what? Not everyone wants my wisdom of planning for their future. I know the importance of retirement and planning ahead but I didn’t have retirement from my job. I try hard to pass this onto younger people.
One day, life on earth is done but your example can live forever in someone’s mind. They will remember you for who you were on earth. Live by the Bible and love like God.
