THE BLINK

Ephesians 2:10, “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

May 29, 1980 – I had a baby girl named Tracy. I had prayed for a child and God gave me a beautiful girl. Now she is an adult and has her own beautiful little girl named Averie who is about to turn 5 years old. When you put their pictures side by side at the age of three, they look so much alike. Happy Birthday Tracy!

Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

THE BLINK of an eye and kids grow up. One day you are teaching them to tie their shoes and the next, teaching them to drive a car. Then graduation and a job. Before you know it, they’re married and kids of their own. It seems like it all happened in a blink of an eye!

I know that in a blink, something hard can happen. My daughter is healthy and five days after she had Averie, my daughter had a brain bleed. I’ll never forget the phone call saying she is being air lifted to a hospital and it’s life threatening. After much prayer, medication for 22 days every 2 hours, she got better day by day. The miracle was in the process of time. Thank you God.

Today, I’m counting blessings of the blink. Time is a healer of things and God hears our heart’s cry! Tracy has been through a lot and I see the miracles. She lost a baby, house burned down, had Averie, brain bleed and moved into their rebuilt house. Mixed of hard and good! Always trusting God.

I hope this birthday is filled with new beginnings and blessings for my daughter. I’m happy God chose me to be her mom. I’ve learned to live in this day because the blink happens so fast. I hope you learn too that the blink means so much. Don’t miss out on things and purpose this a good day! I never want to blink and miss out on the blessings in this day.
