MOTHER’S DAY

“Fearfully and wonderfully made”

Psalm 139:13-14

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

Mother’s Day is here and so many thoughts of mom. There are people who go to brunch, lunch or dinner out with mom. There are others who barbecue and family time. Those who are happy and those who are sad. Life changes and yet each of us was birthed. We are fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

I think of my mom (Alice) and her mom. My mom was only five years old when her mom died. My mom was the last of 14 kids. She was passed around to different family members and felt as if she had no real home. She got married young to my dad. She had some wrong ideas but I can see now she did her best. I want to give her honor today!

Exodus 20:12

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Not everyone is happy today because of a mom who gave them away, a woman who can not have a child and the list goes on, let us focus on how God created you and give thanks for your life that came through another. A true purpose and you can make right decisions and shine for Jesus.

My daughter (Tracy) lost a baby and it was so hard. I remember telling her that God showed me a baby girl for her. She didn’t really want yo hear me because of her pain of loss. Mother’s Day was a reminder of who she wasn’t, a mom. Yet, in another year, she found out that she was having a baby girl. Her name will be Averie and a miracle baby. Her story is one of God answering the desire if her heart. Sometimes holding on is the key to answered prayers.

I do realize some stories are not so happy ending. The loss or no baby is hard to understand why God. Yet, God’s plan continues. We continue to lean not to our own understanding.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, step mom, foster moms and moms who have children in Heaven and mom with kids here on earth. Purpose this a beautiful day to celebrate life!

I want to also give you honor to the mothers of my grandchildren, Ashley Jester, Ashley Nance and Tracy Ulitin. Happy Mother’s Day family.

My praying for those who read my blog on this day. Praying for women and men who hurt today. Purpose this a good day!
