Matthew 5:15-16
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
People watch our lives in ways we might not know. A simple smile goes along ways. Just a hello in the store to a stranger or open a door for someone. Acts of kindness brings smiles. Kind words brings smiles. It bring sunshine into lives.
We know that rainy days happen. We prepare for rain, wind, storms and harder days at times.
Isaiah 45:8
“You heavens above, rain down my righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the LORD, have created it.
Thinking in the natural, we face many things, and we must balance everything in life. I am grateful all the things I’ve learned over time. I’m not the little girl anymore but I keep looking for those days that bring sunshine. The simple things that continue to make me smile.
I enjoyed volunteering at my church. I know that God is real and I see how people are looking for hope. It’s not always what you say to others but the presence of God shines through you.
For example, our children’s pastor Stacy, has the balance down great in greeting new little lives but their parents too. Just a ray of sunshine. I remember first meeting her and her husband. Such a great couple that continues to shine years later. It takes Jesus shining through lives that makes these new people leave their kids in kids ministry.
Stacy has put together a lot of volunteers that brings the same sunshine into lives. Arianna, Amanda, Anna, Betsy, Chad, Ashley, Sonia, Janice and the list goes on. There are also teen helpers and God us using everyone in their gifting.
One person connects with another and it’s all God’s plan. I feel blessed to be at my church. I feel blessed that God continues to spur me on to write and be available to pray for others. I hope you feel the sunshine in your life and spread the good news that God continues to answer you.
