WITHOUT YOU…..

The Vine and the Branches

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

WITHOUT GOD ~ verse 5

you can do nothing.

Without God, we have no peace! Just knowing God is in control makes me feel calm. In my younger years I didn’t understand that peace of God. I was about 35 years old when we had to make a decision to sale our beautiful home in Pinole. It was a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 fireplaces and a huge family room. We had a dog name Sandy and big backyard. My husband lost his job, we were in huge debt and decided to sale our house. We were moving to Vallejo to be closer to our church.

I didn’t want to really do this but I was convinced it was right. Moving in a tiny 4 Plex. It had 2 bedrooms, kitchen was tiny and we had to eat in tiny living room. I felt myself becoming angry at Terry and God. But it wasn’t God. It was our decisions and our choices. I fine I blamed God for my choices and that’s free will. I had to take ownership of my choices.

I learned then about the vine and branches. Life was always there, I forgot I had a voice too. Life was different then for Terry and I. I don’t want to write negative but we listen to others that we thought we right.

Yet, we were adults and could have gotten a second opinion. We lost a-lot financially but we gained a-lot spiritually. We found freedom through God’s word.

Read the Bible yourself. Know the Bible and what is true. God gives life and we truly are the branches. Bear fruit and be the example of Jesus in all you do. Life is truly short and we never know what today will bring.
