Filled with love
John 15:12: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Living in the Easter Season of time, I see Easter Baskets will candy, toys and happy kids. I don’t remember getting Easter Baskets as a kid. My parents would always say we did not have money. I don’t remember going to church or Easter egg hunts. Life was much different for me at 5 in 1960. I love how my grandkids get things from grandparents and parents. Such a joy to see then happy.
Yesterday was Good Friday service at my church. They had a big kids ministry service. Making things but praying over kids. Their adult person (mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles and whoever they came with) prayed over them.
I must admit it was a joy to see families with their kids. There are single moms and single dads that deal with so much. As I heard prayer was happening over kids, My heart was happy. Kids need all of us. A friendly hi at church or outside the church can matter to a child.
Sunday will be an Easter Egg hunt at my church. Let us live God command in John 15:12 love one another! Let us also teach kids about Jesus and how he rose again to give us freedom of sin. It’s a joy within our souls that someone loved us so much and we can love back.
I love how our children’s pastor Stacy Marks is joined by her husband, boys and a fantastic team of people to celebrate Jesus tomorrow. Plus, an Easter Egg hunt for kids. It makes for the perfect Sunday!
Let us also pray for kids who don’t know Jesus or maybe not get an Easter Basket! I once again think of my childhood and I used to hear that kids got baskets but didn’t understand as a little kid. We all grow up different. As an adult, I can pray and I can be a positive example to kids and adults. Go ahead, be the one who makes a difference today in any area of life!
If you don’t have a home church and live close to Napa, join us at Hillside. Located at 100 Anderson Road, Napa CA. Two services 9am and 11am. Food in between the two services. See you there.
Blessings, Sparkie
