A plan, A promise and A future

God has a plan for each of our lives. I stopped today to think. My husband (Terry) turns 68 today and is rethinking life. Our daughter decided to gift us a 23 and me DNA test. Little did we know that this test would reveal some heartbreak. Terry was 67 years old and found out his dad wasn’t his biological dad. His grandparents on the Nance side, wasn’t blood related. So many thoughts and changes. He wasn’t a Nance at all or was he? Bob Nance signed her birth certificate as the father. He raised him and will always be dad.

Behind The Scenes

I’m sure a lot was going on behind the scene of life in 1955. Terry’s mom didn’t want anyone to know. She only told her a few people who kept her secret until DNA came back. Terry was broken hearted. Terry talked to his mom’s sister and she told him the truth. She kept this secret for over 67 years.

I know that God’s see’s the tears and know his pain. People look at you and think they know you. Yet some secrets can kill us inside and other secrets bless us.

Psalm 56:8

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

God hears the cry of our hearts. Our decisions in life affect others. Secrets can pop up and change so many things.

This birthday for my husband is different. He talked to his sister Brenda and found out they were half siblings. This broke his heart. She never knew until DNA showed it. He has another half sister Kerrell he talks too. He continues to figure things out with her help.

Bringing all thoughts and prayers back to God. God used Terry to lead his parents to God and they changed their lives. Living for Jesus. He never knew his biological dad. He is not even sure if he know he was alive. So many questions and no one alive to answer the hard questions.

Never think you know someone by looking at them. He holds hurt and disappointment of family. He also holds new beginning with Kerrell and other family.

Behind the scene is Jesus! This story doesn’t surprise him. He created Terry and has a plan. Jesus calls Terry by name, Terry! We will keep the name Nance and allow God to connect our lives to others. There is always a reason why, God creates life!
