I LOVE YOU

BIBLE – John 15:9-17

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Jesus Loves Me

When ever I get nervous about something, I start singing Jesus Loves Me inside my head. It brings peace to my soul and calms me down.

When I was a little kid, my friend Connie asked me to her church. It was there that the teacher gave me a little piece of wood with Jesus Loves Me on it. I don’t remember ever going to church with her again. I put this piece of wood by my bed and remember how I felt so loved that Sunday. Just a little kid who spent most of her childhood in a bedroom because that’s where my parents said to go. Yes, go to your room. No you can’t go outside you might get hurt.

It was inside that room that I made up a school day. I would set stuff animals up and teach them. I taught things I learned at school. One day I taught them that someday when I get big, I’m going to teach people to be kind and have lots of friends. I don’t want to be bullied anymore and laughed at anymore.

Wow being an adult, I saw myself a teacher as a kid and never realized that until now. The little girl inside of me, really loves people for who they are. I don’t like being around negative people, I had that growing up. I’m 68 and embrace who I am. I do teach God’s word but as a kid, I never knew that to be Jesus. I had heard very little about him until I became an adult. But I heard Jesus loves me as a kid and that planted deep within my heart. I remember thinking that I love him because he said he loved me. Just a kid, but who was Jesus in Heaven?

We had to move and I lost that piece of wood. But I never lost the words that planted in my heart. As an adult, I found out that I need to ask forgiveness of sin and Jesus forgets it too. Jesus is a great friend and always available to help me, plus you too.

I LOVE YOU ~ JESUS
