“As the scripture teaches, `Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. ‘ (Prov. 22:6.)
Kids watch adults and learn from them. Yesterday, I was asking my 4 year old granddaughter a question. Instead of her answering me, she repeated the question. I said, are you copying me Averie and she said, are you copying me Averie. I started to laugh because this was the first time I heard her do this. Then she laughed. We had a moment and laughed together.
TRAIN UP A CHILD
In Matthew 7, Jesus said everyone who hears his words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Then he went on to say everyone who hears his words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand (Matthew 7:24-26).
ROXANNE was Brookley’s new friend or was she? Brookley was 3 years old and heard the story of rock and sand from the Bible. When church was over, I ask her how she liked class. She said Roxanne. I said oh you met a friend? She quickly put her hands in the air and said, “rains came and winds, rock and sand”. Then I knew what she meant. Only 3 years old and learned from Amy and Karen.
Teach them ~ kids listen, watch and learn. Not all of us grew up in church. We learn things later in life. If you have ever been around a two year old, they copy you too. Life starts out early learning. Even a baby knows the time to cry if hungry or they need something. If you need something, don’t hide it away but seek the truth in God’s word.
People talk about being a new Christian and taking steps. You can’t learn everything about the Bible in a short time. It takes time and a process. I’m happy you have read this today. I promise to pray for those who read my blog and hope you will share a comment. Share a blessing so others can read it too.
Blessings, Sparkie
