Luke 13:10-19
Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman on the Sabbath
10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
SEE MY NEED
God created you and don’t you think he see’s your need. The Bible says to ask, seek and knock. Each of us goes through different things and it moods us. The truth is, it can mold you to a better person or bitter.
I watched my mom for years grieve over my dad. She was 44 years old when my dad died and i was 18. I tried to get her to date in years ahead but it was always a no. She stayed angry, bitter and hard to deal with. She was mad at God for taking my dad.
When she moved to an assistant living place at 80 years old, she met Irwin. A man who lost his wife and they found a friendships. Exactly what each other needed. I had only wished my mom had lived the last 40 years in happiness.
My mom told me that I taught women but I never taught her. Wow what a statement. I tried to teach her but her choices made the difference. She never changed. God gives us choices and freedom to make those choices. Don’t let life cripple you! Move forward, live in joy of the Lord. I’m not saying it’s easy but it is necessary to live in peace. With my 18 year old eyes, I saw so much pain and no hope. As i grew older, I saw things different. Choices, choices, choices and actions makes a difference. Choose positive and life giving choices.
Remember God see’s you and hears you! God heal those who need a miracle like the crippled woman. Help us not to live in a crippling state of mind. Pressing forward with a deep breaths and knowing you are right here to move on. You make a difference!
Blessings, Sparkie
