When something happens negative in life, you can truly see who your friends are. Some people make themselves available for you. I have recently experienced this again in life.
Bible: John 15:12
My command is this:
Love each other as I have loved you.
My experience:
There are some family members and friends who are not so giving. Giving of their time just isn’t their gift. I want to share something that recently happen to me. I realized that I wasn’t a good receiver. I am use to giving and when someone ask me what I want, I just don’t say. My husband was in the hospital for a few days. My daughter in law/love called to see if I wanted anything. She was willing to bring me anything I wanted. Yet, it was cold out and she had her two year old. I thought of her, Emery and said no. Yet, I really did want something. I text her later and told her I am learning how to receive. It made me realize that receiving is important too.
Jesus said to ask! I need to learn to ask. I’m thinking about what I hold back and I think it’s better than hearing no. Growing up wasn’t a lot of yes, it was more no. Even as a adult, I noticed some of what i ask for, I don’t get. Yet, I do get nice things. That’s my human self. I do believe God’s word and I’ve seen my issue and now time to say what I want. It’s a first step, right!
Bible says:
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
I do have a wonderful family and friends. Counting blessings and praying for them daily. I also have seen others that aren’t there for me. Some friends are only there for a season and they move on. But I do know those I can count on. This last illness for my husband has brought many text messages across the states, calls and visits. I can see clearly and thank God.
Sometimes we just need to refocus in our own lives. Be the one who reaches out and show you care. Be the one giving thanks to God for being you. If you need to change, now is the day. New beginnings are here for you. Jesus loves you, forgives and forgets.
Blessings, Sparkie
