In Matthew 20:25-28,
Jesus tells His disciples that leaders should not exercise authority over people. Instead, whoever wants to become great must lower himself to be a servant. Leaders realize that serving others is the only way to lead with a pure heart, free of pride and arrogance.
PRESIDENTS DAY 2023
Today I am thinking about The Presidents of America. Whether we fully agree with the current President, we still show respect.
Each President has done good and not so good. We must agree to disagree on things of life. The Bible talks about leaders, responsibilities and actions. They are charged by God to follow his word.
I heard people talk about past presidents and how they did so much good. Some may even say he was the best present ever. The first one I remember was John F Kennedy. He died in 1968 and I was 8 years old. I was at school and people were crying. I didn’t know what it all meant. Our country changed that day and I remember feeling so scared. Just a little kid and hearing a bad person killed the President. So many questions in my little self. Yet, I was told it will all work out. What does that mean to a kid! Just a kid!
Life would move on and more Presidents would come and go in America in years to come. Many would love the current one and many wouldn’t. Politics is not a topic I chose to talk about. It divides and I chose to pray. Praying for leadership of our country and praying for peace. I see the President’s job as important and dangerous. Praying over him, his family and vice President. Knowing life teaches us different things but to respect leadership.
Look at this, It’s also a day of great sales. Many places closed as respect to Presidents. Schools closed, banks, mail are a few closed. It’s time to stop and reflect over life.
We do agree to disagree on things and Presidents. We chose to respect and give honor. Purpose this a good day and count blessings of living.
Blessings, Sparkie
