“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14.
Throughout life, I learned the importance of a gate. It can keep you out, it can let you in or both. My daughter has a beautiful gate entering their property. It has a code and sometimes I forget it. You might need a code to get in.
God said, Heaven had a gate. Knowing we must give our lives to God and live according to the Bible. I find living kindness is just peaceful. Doing the right thing, is right. Yet, not everyone has found this key to life to life. Each of us must make our own choices. Those choices leads to wrong or right.
Do not be confused with right and wrong. God said:
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
As a kid, I was taught things. Somethings were taught right and others things were wrong. For example, if you broke a mirror, it was seven years bad luck. I’ll never forget my mom yelling at me because I broke a mirror and it was my fault our family would have seven years bad luck! I ran to my bedroom and cried for the longest time.
Another example:
My parents talked about money and how the kids needed clothes. Yet no money for them. So my aunt did a yard sale and taught me to make money. The one thing they never complained about was cigarettes for my mom or beer for my dad.
Life as a kid was hard for me. Life as an adult has taught me to treat kids different than I was treated. I realize there are gates of opportunities. After all, you never know how many chances you have with someone. Live a life worthy unto God as he opens gates here and you can make a difference on earth. I’ll never stop trying and so hope you won’t either.
Blessings, Sparkie
